PROVISIONS CONCERNING TOLERANCES

  • Tolerances in respect of quality and size shall be allowed in each lot for produce not satisfying the minimum requirements of the class indicated.
  • Tolerances are provided to allow for deviation in handling due to natural deterioration of fresh produce over time.
  • Conformity with tolerances should be determined using at least the operating  rules for the conformity checks as set out in Annex II of the Councıl Decısıon  Revising the OECD “Scheme” for the Application of İnternational Standards for Fruit and Vegetables [C(2006)95]4
  • The tolerances are stated in terms of percentage, by number or weight of produce in the total sample not conforming to the class (or to the size) indicated on the package.
