·       U.S. Fancy Consists Of Heads Of Lettuce Which Meet The Following Requirements:

Basic Requirements:

·       Similar Varietal Characteristics;

·       Fresh; 

·       Green;

·       Not Soft; 

·       Not Burst;

Free From:

·       Decay;

·       Russet Spotting;

·       Doubles;

Free From Injury By:

·       Tipburn;

·       Downy Mildew;

·       Field Freezing;

·       Discoloration;

Not Damaged By Any Other Cause.

Each Head Shall Be Fairly Well Trimmed Unless Specified As Closely Trimmed.

Grade No. 1 Consists Of Heads Of Lettuce Which Meet The Following Requirements:
