General characteristics 

  • Oil cake of good and fair grades shall be the product obtained after  the extraction of oil from mustard seed* by power-driven machinery.
  • Ghani oil cake shall be the product obtained after the extraction of oil from mustard seed* by animal driven ghani or kolhu.
  • The material shall be free from harmful constituents including argemone and castor cake or husk.
  • It shall be free from rancidity, adulterants, insects or fungus infestation and from fermented musty or other objectionable odour.
  • It shall be free from dirt and extraneous matter.
