FLOWERS

HEADS 1.2-2.2 CM LONG, OVOID, AXILLARY AND TERMINAL, PURPLISH.

FRUITS

ACHENES 4-5 CM LONG, ACUTELY ANGLED, PITTED IN THE GROOVES; DULL BROWN. PAPPUS HAIRS MANY, 5-16 MM LONG, UNEQUAL, SHINING BROWN.
