WOODY, 4-ANGLED, OFTEN BEARING RECURVED PRICKLES.

LEAVES

SERRATED LEAVES ARE OVATE TO OVATE-LANCEOLATE (UP TO10 CM LONG AND 7.5 CM WIDE) AND USUALLY LIGHT COLORED.

FLOWERS

YELLOW AND PINK, LATER TURNING ORANGE THEN RED AND SOMETIMES BLUE OR PURPLE.

FRUITS

BLACK, FLESHY DRUPES, BORNE IN CLUSTERS, 3-6 MM IN DIAMETER AND CONTAIN 1-2 SEEDS.
